If you like smart, funny women chatting about clothes, you need to listen to Dawn O'Porter's podcast
DAWN O’PORTER is something of a Renaissance woman.
She’s a broadcaster, a wildly successful author, a style icon, a designer and the owner of the greatest surname ever. Last year, O’Porter added another string to her bow and launched a podcast called Get It On.
And it’s a bloody delight.
Each episode sees O’Porter interview a famous face about “why they wear what they wear”.
O’Porter chats to her guests about everything from their personal style evolution to embarrassing fashion faux pas. It’s like eavesdropping on a really, really good conversation among mates.
She’s managed to book some seriously good guests including our own Amy Huberman, Aisling Bea and Angela Scanlon.
Fancy hearing about what it’s like to dress for the IFTAs when you’re heavily pregnant? How about educating yourself on the importance of ethical clothing? Or hearing why a ‘house coat’ is the most glamorous item of clothing a sloth-woman can own?
This is the podcast for you.
But it’s not an all-lady affair – she’s talked to fellas like Jason Segel, Matt Iseman, Alan Carr and Dermot O’Leary as well.
And yes, she’s chatted to Roscommon’s finest Chris O’Dowd. Wonder how she wangled that one?
In a podcast climate that can sometimes feel like it’s dominated by comedians talking loudly at each other, O’Porter’s podcast feels like a breath of fresh air.
Smart, funny, incisive chat about clothes. What a nice change of pace!
